World War II Era: In 1937, Walt disney released his first full-length animated film, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs." But overseas, the dark clouds of war loomed once again. Japan invaded China that year, and Hitler had already occupied the Rhineland and formed the Axis powers with Mussolini and Italy. The rumblings of those dark clouds were the beginnings of what would be known as World War II as is frequently the case, the horrors of war were slightly tempered by the spate of social improvements that arose from the war effort and new understandings of society's needs.

For example, the Post Office initiated improvements we take for granted today. Knowing that U.S. soldiers overseas would be thrilled to receive a "care package" from home, in 1948 the Post Office began parcel post international (and domestic) air service.

Now, the patriotic fervor of World War II is celebrated in an authentically detailed die-cast model of 1937 GMC Postal Van. Marked with a poster proclaiming "We Can Do It," your 1937 GMC Postal Van Postal Truck is produced by - and available only from - Matchbox Collectibles.
